Detailed description and features of the model:
  • The model's doors can be opened.
  • The model has steerable front wheels.
Drivers: Volker Weidler, Johnny Herbert, Bertrand Gachot

On June 23, 1991, Johnny Herbert was behind the wheel, crossing the finish line around 4:00 PM and securing Mazda's first Le Mans victory. However, there was no celebration on the podium. Herbert was so dehydrated that only his adrenaline had allowed him to finish the race. As the team proceeded to the podium ceremony, Herbert lay unconscious in the circuit's medical center. Volker Weidler also suffered lasting damage when he lost an earplug during the race. The extremely loud Wankel engine of the 787B caused Weidler permanent hearing loss. As a result, he retired from motorsport entirely in 1992. He suffered from balance problems that made active participation in motorsport impossible.
